ACE Centre North Training

The ACE Centre North offers a range of training and professional development opportunities.

1: ACCREDITED TRAINING is currently available in 2 specific areas, as follows: -
1.1 Assistive Technology Unit - 4 days of face-to-face teaching covering all aspects of Assistive Technology, including AAC, Access & Recording. It can be accredited through The Manchester Metropolitan University.
- COST: £600
1.2 AAC Unit - Combination of face-to-face sessions & distance learning. This module focuses specifically on AAC issues related to equipment, assessment & implementation. It can be accredited through The Manchester Metropolitan University.
- COST: £600

1.3 Recording Unit -

This Unit is a distance-learning programme which can be accredited up to Masters Level by the Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) focussing on all aspects of retrieving and communicating

information.

Written by members of ACE Centre North’s Assessment & Training Team, this course constitutes 200/400 hours of participant effort (dependent on the level of accreditation pursued) through a combination of self-directed study and 4 face-to-face sessions at ACE Centre North.

- COST: £600
Additional accredited training courses may be available in the future.

CENTRE COURSES on a range of topics
- COST: £75 for half day courses and £150 for full day courses (including lunch)

BESPOKE Training for Staff Teams available on request & according to the Centre's existing committments.
- COST: £450 half day (typically involving two members of The Centre's Assessment and Training Team) and designed specifically to meet your training needs. Twilight sessions can be arranged on request.

N.B. For any training undertaken outside of The Centre travelling expenses have to be charged.
