About Tony Jones:
Tony is a well-qualified, Independent Teacher with over thirty years of successful experience in SpecialSchools and Colleges providing support and tuition for young people wishing to develop their augmentative communication and cognitive skills.
Tony has worked with children and adults at all levels of ability from PMLD to degree level and delivered training on a wide variety of subjects to professionals and non-professionals alike.
Tony has been directly responsible for winning major awards for the establishments where he has previously worked including the National Training Agency Award for Innovation (outright winner) and the Makaton Centre of Excellence award for his work on teaching sign and symbol.
Tony has authored a number of Augmentative Communication Programs including Language, Learning and Living, Discovery, M-Power and ViP. He also wrote the IMPact training manual and has developed a symbol set of over 40,000 symbols (the symbols used in this web site are his work).
